SECTOR STRATEGIES
Meeting the needs of business & industry
North Bay Business Sector Alliance (NBBSA) & Regional Industry Sector Partnerships
The Workforce Alliance of the North Bay is a key member of the North Bay Business Sector Alliance (NBBSA), which engages businesses in our region’s most in-demand industries to:
- Identify the career pathways most critical to regional economic success;
- Ensure that career pathway programs meet regional industry needs;
- Define which postsecondary credentials are industry-valued and recognized, and the process for maintaining currency in this area;
- Identify training and education deficiencies and the approaches to solving them;
- Ensure that the voices of businesses are integral in determining policy priorities and strategies.
The North Bay Employment Connection (NBEC), which also includes Sonoma and Solano Counties, was awarded $1 million from the California Workforce Development Board’s SlingShot Initiative to coordinate with community partners in education and economic development to establish regional Industry Sector Partnerships that put business out front to identify specific industry priorities, workforce challenges and opportunities.
Thus far, these funds have been invested in development of the following partnerships:
Napa Hospitality Industry Partnership – partnership priorities include talent recruitment, talent pipeline development, public policy, and shared marketing. For more information, contact Whitney Diver McEvoy, President & CEO, Yountville Chamber of Commerce.
Napa-Solano Health Care Industry Partnership – partnership priorities include enhancing education and training offerings, shared data, and partnership sustainability. For more information, contact Brian Hooker (Solano County) or Julia Smith (Napa County).
