Course Purpose
Project Management is the skillset for delivering better project outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction. An efficient, effective project delivery process increases productivity and builds team cohesion. A practical project process helps any organization plan, manage and deliver project outcomes more reliably.

This course helps you learn the proven processes to be more effective at running projects.

The course is for anyone in charge of project-type deliveries in their organization, as well as leaders of organizations seeking better delivery capabilities from the benefits of project management principles and processes.

Course Description
A project manager’s success depends on having a reliable framework to convert project objectives and resources into actions that deliver to stakeholder needs.

This course presents practical methods, tools and techniques for accomplishing project goals more successfully.

Step by step, you will learn about:

The structure of a successful project;
Processes for setting up and completing a project;
Skills, tools, and mindset to confidently lead projects;
Tip & tricks from real experience;
Better communications with project stakeholders and team members;
Preparing for the PMP exam – what to expect;
PM vocabulary and terminology;
Better understanding of project management software;
Understanding changes in the new PMBOK 7th edition;
Predictive (waterfall) and adaptive (agile) project management frameworks.

From planning to delivery, this course is designed to help you grow in your role as project manager.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a Certificate in Project Management from Sonoma State University. The course satisfies the education requirements (35 hours) to sit for the Project Management Professional (PMP®) examination, offered by the Project Management Institute (www.pmi.org).

Prerequisites: There are no prerequisites for the Sonoma State University Project Management Certification Course.

With greater knowledge of the Project Management skill set, participants gain a flexible yet practical set of project management tools and techniques they can customize to the needs of their organization. A known project process improves project delivery efficiency.
